Lifestyle Expert has Advice for Autism Parents

Self-Care is not just about our basic, essential needs of healthcare. Self-Care should go beyond the practical to self-nurturing. Lifestyle expert Susan Campbell Cross visits Let’s Talk Autism with Shannon Penrod and guest host Nancy, to share the power of guilt-free self-care skills.

So how do we focus more on self-care when our lives are already fully packed? How do we shift our busy lives to take time for ourselves?

Susan shares about removing the guilt, creating time (in pen) on your busy calendar – even if it’s time off in the future for yourself, and who looks after the kids while you’re taking care of you. Encouragement is given for putting support systems in place and asking for help so that you can have the time you need to help yourself.

Susan encourages everyone to take their needs off of the back burner for the good of the entire family and gives great tips on finding the time to do it by scheduling your needs and desires. This is great for any parent who feels as though they have lost their way in the self-care department.
