Posted at 02:56h in
In this video, Alisa from Creating Connections Australia explains the importance of maintaining good hygiene and helping autistic teens to develop good hygiene habits. Hygiene is important for interacting with others as well as our own health.
Alisa suggests approaching this topic with care when talking to a teen about hygienic habits, and also teaching good hygiene habits before it is especially necessary as a teenager. Additionally, it can be good to try to find products that suit your child’s needs better (for example, spray-on vs. roll-on deodorant for different sensory needs).
