How To Make Your Own Hand Sanitizer | Dr. Ian Smith

In this short clip from the Rachael Ray Show, Dr. Ian Smith joins the program to teach you how to make your own hand sanitizer. After the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, hand sanitizer (and toilet paper) were nowhere to be seen in stores. This video is helpful if you ever are unable to find hand sanitizer to purchase, or if you’d prefer to make your own.

Dr. Smith stresses the importance and effectiveness of washing your hands as a first line of defense, and to use hand sanitizer as a backup. Hand sanitizer needs to be 60% alcohol to kill the pathogens(90% is preferred), and to make your own you need isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, aloe vera gel, and possibly essential oils.
