14 Feb TIPS FOR TRAVELING WITH AUTISM
In this video, Stephanie from Our LANDing Crew discusses some tips for parents and caretakers on travelling with their autistic children. Travelling can be difficult for people with autism for a variety of reasons, as travel means an interruption in the child’s normal routine and an overwhelming amount of information to process.
To help her son Noah be prepared for upcoming vacations, Stephanie found that practicing and preparing for the trip was especially important. Leading up to their vacation, Stephanie practiced with Noah by taking him on longer car rides than he was used to, but shorter than the eventual vacation. She was able to help Noah mentally prepare for the trip as well by explaining to him the expected travel schedule and itinerary.
